My piece, “There is a light at the end of the tunnel,” exemplifies how the creative brain is always moving towards some type of objective, how we never stop reaching higher and higher. The light at the end of the creative brain’s tunnel is not just the end product, but the promise of starting another creative process, a cycle that is captured through the motion of the waves of the hair. My piece goes beyond the daily stylings and upkeep of hair, testing what can truly be both achieved and conveyed through the cosmetology field—an experience that both tests the limits of what is natural and conforms to the desire of artists to constantly be creating something new and unique.

For me, Carver is saying that creativity should be fueled by constantly feeding your mind to create new things. Constantly seeing different kinds of makeup looks inspire and motivate me to create my own work. I take inspiration from aspects of what I see in other peoples’ makeup and incorporate them into my own. Here, I sort of winged this makeup look with no clear plan in mind, coming up with ideas as I worked through it and it turned out so cool. Also if u wanna support my art, follow @rachellumakeup :))
